Excitement has now begun

Two wow episodes of Desperate Housewives! The real stuff has begun now! There so much to be discussed! Lynette and tom! I knew that Tom wouldn’t cheat on Lynette, but Porter having an affair with Anne was some news! Mrs McCluskey is on a mission! She’s doing well! Dave has a criminal psychology record, curious to find what’s going to be his next move.
Sex tapes, ransom, misunderstandings made for a typical Desperate Housewives Episode! Gaby was on another track on the whole! Oh ya and how can I forget…Katherine and Mike…now that was a total surprise..hahaha..I definitely want to see the future of their relationship. Susan and Jackson doing the dating thing were very cute! Personally also I feel the whole newness of things make relationships exciting and can brighten the fire.

Mirror Mirror

There are events in our lives that take us back to the time we decided we needed some change and the result is today. I loved the Sunday episode of Desperate Housewives for the same.
Periodic flashbacks to the past five years explain some of the missing pieces that were left unanswered. Dave’s suspicious behavior makes me very curious. I think he’s up to revenge, could it be Mike but I don’t get the connection. . Bree has a problem employing her husband, she remembers how she fell off the wagon the day when Orson was sent to prison for three years for the hit-and-run attempt on Mike, and how Katherine came to her rescue by insisting that she be made a partner in her business. Gabby was funny as always. Overall an interesting episode with with nice twists.

Desperate Housewives season 5 was a Diwali treat!

Diwali was just perfect! Met family and friends and yes saw the first episode of Desperate Housewives!!! The whole 5 year leap was awesome! And boy, it was definitely juicer. They all looked so glamorous but it was shocking to see Gaby like that. Apart from all of that the mystery this time seems to be quite interesting as always. I am eager to find more about Edie’s husband, what’s with anger problem and why is he being so sweet to everyone?
Children have grown, parents are struggling with these grown ups, this makes for funny situations, some good laughs. Oh and how I missed Mary Alice quotes, the wonderful things she says at the start and end of episodes. Although I feel bad for Gaby, I am happy for Bree, Orson’s sentence is finally over. Susan’s trying to get over Mike but I don’t want her too. They are quite good together. I can’t wait for the next weekend!DHW S4 MARATHON

Guess My Secret…

28011754_11fd3f2901In my earlier posts I mentioned that I have a confession to make, a secret that I carry with me. What do you think it can be?

  1. I cheated on my husband
  2. I tried to commit suicide
  3. I live parallel lives

My First Vacation with Family!

My First vacation with family- Hawaii

My First vacation with family- Hawaii

Is’nt it gorgeous, I’ll never forget this one! It’s special!

simons-post-graphicsSecrets add spice to life. So a little secret here and there, I feel, does no harm. Here is my take on how to keep your secrets and keep them safe –

1.     First and foremost – if you have a secret – never (notice my special emphasis on never), never ever let it out!  The bottom line is – Live with it and Die with it, if you can. Experience the beauty and pleasure of keeping a secret – something that only you know of and no one else.
2.    Stop worrying unnecessarily. The secret is yours and you can actually keep it safe and secure if you so desire. Worrying unnecesaarily may lead to some abrupt actions that may spill your secret.
3.    If you feel like sharing your secret with someone you are’nt sure about, then first tell them some flimsy gossip and see if they are able to keep it. If the results are positve, then you can go ahead and share yours.
4.    Secrets may be found out with time. Confession day may still be far away. So, do not think of unnecssarily confessing till the time is not right.
5.    If you want your secret to be out, let them come out as confessions, rather than it getting leaked.

Meet my heroes

We all honor heroes for different reasons – sometimes for their courage, sometimes for their determination, sometimes for their goodness. But mostly, we honor them because they have withstood something – a dangerous situation, an emotional turmoil, a whacky unreal situation.
Talking about heroes, I can only think of my friends who are fighting various situations – Sasha- fighting her leukemia; Ayesha- coping with her teenage daughter’s pregnancy; Maliaka supporting her family… Laila, she has overcome a painful divorce and the proof?  She’s getting married!
Among us, Laila was always the bold one – giving photographers, designers, run for their money. She was once the cover girl for all leading fashion magazines, endorsing most of the leading brands. She handled it all, what she couldn’t handle although was falling for all the wrong men. At the peak of her career, she decided to give it all up and get married. I still remember her first day in Pali hill; it was a paparazzi circus outside her house.
Years passed by, but somehow her marriage never took the right turn – flings and affairs and wrong choices finally led to the inevitable divorce. Today, I hope her new suitor, Vishal Malkani, turns out to be the right choice. He’s a rich widower and runs a very successful diamond business. He had lost his wife in a nasty car accident or so he believes, he says.
Oh yes, and Malaika – remember she had come back with her husband after 12 years and he is out of job – has made a choice. She has taken up the job of an Assistant Editor with a magazine. And about me, I am done with my first set of designs, I hope Laila likes them. I need to rush now. I have promised to cook dinner tonight and I also plan to toss over my plan to Ronit over dinner. I promise to come back with more.

Secrets and Confessions

There is a widely read book that tells us everyone is a sinner. Of course, not everyone feels guilty over the bad things they do. In contrast, there are those who assume more than their share of the blame. There are others who soothe their consciences with small acts of kindness… or by telling themselves their sins are justified. Finally, there are those who simply vow to do better next time and pray for forgiveness. Sometimes, their prayers are answered.
Confessions are never easy, and we all have to confess at some point in time. Sometimes a mistake transforms into guilt and a day comes when we just can’t sleep with it.
It was early January, Sasha seemed peculiar …she was hiding a secret – a secret that would bring humiliation to the Kapoor’s. It was a teenage daughter’s confession to her mother. Her daughter was pregnant. At around the same time, my other friend Ayesha’s doctor confessed to her about her illness. She suffered from a rare kind of leukemia and she had little time in hand. All this brought remorse and hope at the same time. It made relationships stronger. Meanwhile, I left for my Moroccan vacation with family. When I returned back I carefully packed some souvenirs in the form of secrets that would one day come out as confessions.
Well, well, well, but that the past; today is a brand new day! And with that comes an exciting new opportunity. I have decided to get back to jewelry designing – and guess who would be wearing my first design – Laila! She doesn’t know about it and it is going to come to her as a huge surprise. I am going to match it with her wedding trousseau – isn’t that brilliant!
And maybe this could lead somewhere… although it’s too early to think but for now I have a goal. It feels so nice to have one after a long time. I love my friends! and my getting back to jewelry designing is one “confession” they are going to love. My boring afternoons will never be the same again; I am happy and contended, far from guilt and remorse, far from my dingy past. I wish to make the most of it. Wish me luck…fingers crossed!

Hola Ladies!

The trick is to keep moving forward, to let go off the fears and the regrets that slow us down and keep us from enjoying a journey that will be over too soon. Yes, there will be unexpected bends in the road, shocking surprises we didn’t see coming… but that’s really the point, don’t you think?

The long week has come to an end! And it has brought about many changes!  The weather looks lousy but whatever has been happening in my life is far from lousy. For starters, I am so proud of my baby boy… he has learnt cycling. It all happened when Ronit, on Friday, got him a bike.  Ronit was a proud father that day, I could feel it.
Friday also brought in nostalgia to our Pali hill neighborhood as one of our close friends Malaika Sanghvi returned after 12 years with her new husband and an old daughter. This was the perfect reason for our old gang to get together. Sasha, Laila, Aayesha, Malaika and me met up for dinner at my place. Malaika, a strong headed person, a perfectionist with a past, seemed worried that day. The reason why she was back was different from what she had told us. We figured that her husband had lost his job to recession and so the sudden arrival.
Then came Saturday and an idea, an idea that would change our lives. Laila was getting married, so wanted me to assist her with her shopping. I was more than happy to help my friend for her big day. What about the big idea? The plan that I think will change my life forever… but before that I need to ask myself a few questions …questions that only I have answers for…so let me begin … now…
